I had an early interest in the counseling field, but there was some part of me that wanted to gain more life experience before becoming a counselor myself. I was still working out my story. So, I spent over 15 years in 8-5 jobs in corporate, academic, government, and nonprofit settings.
I read books and took continuing education coursework in subjects that ranged in anything from business to pottery. I spent time volunteering. I traveled. I competed in outrigger canoeing and dragon boat racing competitions. And I enrolled myself in therapy on the side. It made sense to me that if I was going explore this as a potential career field, that I learn what the experience is like first hand as a client.
I find deep meaning and purpose in the work that I do. Let’s connect and find a solution to what brings you here!
